Vanessa Lin McGraw, AMFT

Hello and welcome. You might be navigating a major life transition and feeling overwhelmed. Or perhaps you feel ready to address an issue that’s been with you for years. Maybe you desire a dedicated space for support as you grow. Whatever brought you here, I hope to accompany you towards greater well-being.

I work with adult individuals navigating a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, transitions, trauma, and loss. I also support couples in working through impasse and strengthening their connection. My practice includes supporting parents through pregnancy and postpartum, a time I cherish as one that can offer opportunities for deep healing and connection. As a mother of two, I know the delights and demands that parenting can bring. I also provide child-parent play therapy for preschoolers to help young children process difficulties such as parental divorce, loss, and medical trauma.

People who work with me say my calm presence puts them at ease. I am both gentle and direct. My approach focuses on early attachment and attending to mind, heart, and body through somatic methods. My clients expand their imaginations for change and are more present to joy in their lives. I value exploring how cultural and racial dynamics impact us and love working with people of color and multiracial families. As a person of faith, I welcome engaging spirituality in therapy.

I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#141456) supervised by Livia Ondi, LMFT. I completed training in perinatal mental health and infant-parent psychotherapy with the UCSF Infant-Parent Program at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. I earned my Masters in Counseling Psychology at the University of San Francisco.
